Happy 226th birthday, Franz Schubert! His iconic “Trout” Quintet, also known as the “Piano Quintet in A Major, D. 667,” is a chamber music piece that was composed in 1819. The quintet is named as such because it features a theme from Schubert’s song “Die Forelle” (The Trout) in the 4th movement as a theme and variations.
