Turning 9lb of steel into a meatball for this giant Emmert 10a vise! This was a fun little job to use my metal lathe the way I’d have used a wood lathe. I used a round carbide insert tool to avoid any sharp edges and did this all by eye. I could have tried to learn how to program my DRO to do this perfect but that would have made it too easy… this restoration is coming along nicely! 113 year old tools are not something you see every day… I’m fortunate to have a lot of 100 year old equipment in incredible condition.
