The Katima Mulilo Town Council has sworn in its new political leadership. Kabende Kabende, from the Swapo Party, was elected as the new town mayor, with Charity Matongo-Mabuku, also from Swapo, as deputy mayor. Swapo's stronghold in the local authority extends to Kamwi Mazila, Royd Likando, and Nsala Muhongo, who serve as members of the management committee. Muhongo was also elected chairperson of the management committee. IPC’s Jimmy Sikwela and NDP’s Simasiku Mukendwa remain ordinary members.
