Semi spherical . I’m forging up a semi spherical swage block and a semi cylindrical for a customer in Switzerland. These go in/on the anvil for forging work in. Dishing , rounding, sinking are just a couple things you can use the 2” , 1.5” and 1” half spherical depressions for. These are forged from 4140 and will have a 1” square shank welded to them. The first drift by hand at the swage block for the 30lb sledge. So important to keep the eye straight vertically and horizontally. Each side needs one round like this, then rotated to keep everything in line. After that flipped and drifted from each side. So while the sledge hammer eye is getting larger and closer to its final dimension everything must be kept tidy and even.
