One river we have always enjoyed filming for a particular species is the River Wharfe, especially for grayling. For those familiar with fishing on the Wharfe, you will know it has a peaty tinge. The key to successful filming in this river is that the shallower the water, the better the quality of the footage. While out on his morning checks yesterday, eagle-eyed River Keeper Mark spotted this otter towards the southern end of the Estate. Otters are most active at dawn and dusk when feeding, so it’s rare to be rewarded with a mid-morning sighting. As quickly as it arrived, it disappeared back into the Wharfe and on its way.
