A diver in Eastport Maine had a close encounter with a porbeagle shark. The diver was in 28ft of water filming the ocean floor as part of an environmental assessment. The Atlantic Sharpnose shark is relatively small compared to other sharks with an average length between 3.5-4 feet long. You can tell they are Atlantic Sharpnose by their black edges on the dorsal and caudal fins. We found 2 playing around the reef on our dives this week at Buck Island.
