Nico Erik Rosberg (born 27 June 1985) is a German and Finnish former racing driver and entrepreneur, who competed under the German flag in Formula One from 2006 to 2016. Rosberg won the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in 2016 with Mercedes, and won 23 Grands Prix across 11 seasons.

In Formula BMW ADAC, Nico Rosberg won the championship in his rookie season, driving for his father's team under the banner of VIVA Racing. When Rosberg's Formula 3 team moved to the new Euroseries in its inaugural year, Nico graduated with it, and stayed for two years before moving on to GP2 in 2005.

Nico began competitive go-kart racing at the age of six and achieved early success, winning regional and national French championships, before moving to European-based series and world championships. At the age of 16, he progressed to car racing, winning nine races to claim the 2002 Formula BMW ADAC Championship with VIVA Racing.

Since its inception, Team Rosberg has claimed a total of 38 DTM victories as well as two driver and team championship titles. Nico Rosberg will oversee the development of RXR in Extreme E as the team's Founder and CEO, while Kimmo Liimatainen takes on the role of Team Principal.

In the Formula BMW ADAC series the 17-year-old Rosberg (now racing with a German passport) won the championship and earned himself a F1 test drive with Williams, the team with which Keke won the driving title.

The team, which is now led by former racing driver Kimmo Liimatainen, is also successful in other racing series. Nico Rosberg won the Formula BMW ADAC title in 2002, which laid the foundation for his victory in the Formula 1 World Championship.

Rosberg moved to Formula BMW in 2002 and won the championship at his first attempt, winning nine times in 20 races, and in December, at the age of 17, drove a BMW Williams Formula One car as a prize for his success.

Rosberg graduated to the 2002 German Formula BMW Championship with VIVA Racing. He won nine times to score a dominant championship victory in his first season in cars. Having a famous father had its advantages but if he owns a Formula 3 team then so much the better!

Oct 26, 2024 · Nico showed excellent racing prowess from a young age. He began karting at age 6, and fast forward 10 years, he won nine races in the 2002 Formula BMW ADAC championship securing the championship at just age 16.

By 16, Rosberg advanced to car racing, securing the 2002 Formula BMW ADAC Championship with VIVA Racing. He then competed in the Formula 3 Euro Series with Team Rosberg in 2003 and 2004, followed by clinching the first GP2 Series championship with ART Grand Prix in 2005.
