Rev. Thomas Hickman was Rector of Upton Lovell parish from 1619 until deprived of his position by Parliamentary forces during the Civil War. He was an ardent Royalist who provided 'horses and arms at his own proper charges , and sending both his sons and servants in vindication thereof'.
