All of our work, from adoptions to humane education, is aimed at increasing the quality of life for animals in Humboldt County by providing people with the knowledge needed to be responsible and compassionate caretakers for our animal companions.

"I founded CAF in June 2002 because Humboldt County was euthanizing between 5-6 thousand animals with approximately 75% being cats. It's hard to imagine a single animal, let alone thousands in our small corner of the world.

If you are interested in a specific animal, please give us a call at (707) 296-4629 or come by to fill out an application at the CAF Adoption Center located at 3954 Jacobs Ave in Eureka. You can also fill out your application here and bring it with you to the adoption center.

Animal Help. Our animals (mostly kittens) are always stubborn about cleaning their own rooms. Volunteers can assist our employees in cleaning cages and our kitten room, providing food and attention, and doing medical evaluations.
