Satellite internet service Starlink appears to be down across multiple states, but it's unclear exactly how widespread the problem is.
According to a recent report from the speed test site Ookla, Starlink users receive median speeds of 105Mbps down and 15Mbps up. That's plenty of bandwidth for many households but it still falls short of what the Federal Communications Commission defines as broadband. (Disclosure: Ookla is owned by the same parent company as CNET, Ziff Davis.)
Starlink outage affected more than 40,000 users in the United States, according to Downdetector. Netizens reported service interruptions and raised concerns online. The company has not issued an official statement.
