Australia's House of Representatives has passed a bill that would ban children under the age of 16 from using most social media platforms.

The Australian Senate is debating a ban on children younger than 16 from social media after the House of Representatives overwhelmingly supported the age restriction

If the bill becomes law on Thursday, social media platforms would have one year to work out how to implement the age restrictions.
