Snow accumulation is likely for the Denver metro area and a winter weather advisory is now in effect. It's a First Alert Weather Day due to the new Colorado snow that's blasting through the area. Snow will begin to stick to roadways early Thursday evening.

The significant snowfall on Wednesday has earned a spot on the all-time record for daily snowfalls. ORF recorded 10.2 inches of snow, marking it as the eighth highest snowfall total on one calendar day.

Berthoud Pass and Rollins Pass, mountain passes in the Rocky Mountains west of Denver, are forecast to see up to a foot of fresh snowfall Thursday night and Friday morning.
