Pope Francis rested overnight in the hospital, the Vatican said Sunday, adding that his night “passed peacefully.”

The update to Francis’s condition came Sunday in the written text of his regular Angelus prayer after he had been listed as “critical” on Saturday.

Pope Francis, who is currently in hospital with pneumonia, spent a quiet night after having suffered an asthma attack, the Holy See's news service said,
