The Boston Red Sox are moving right-hander Walker Buehler to the bullpen, manager Alex Cora told reporters on Friday, hours before first pitch against the New York Yankees (GameTracker). The Red Sox elected not to announce who will take Buehler's spot in their starting rotation.

In 22 starts, Buehler posted the worst numbers of his career with a 5.40 ERA, 16.5 percent strikeout rate and 10.7 percent walk rate.

Red Sox prospect Jhostynxon Garcia – who is fittingly nicknamed "The Password" – has been called up to the big leagues. Boston called up the outfielder from Triple-A Worcester on Thursday ahead of a crucial four-game series against the New York Yankees.

After calling up top prospects Roman Anthony and Marcelo Mayer in June, the Red Sox added another prospect Thursday when they recalled outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia from Triple-A Worcester

Brayan Bello will be on the mound when the Red Sox resume their series in New York Friday night. The Yankees will counter with Max Fried.
