Brittney Griner, who has played for only the Phoenix Mercury in her WNBA career, reportedly is joining a new team.

The longtime Phoenix Mercury star is joining the Atlanta Dream, and discussed her decision in an Unrivaled social media clip.

In 2024, they called up WNBA great Tina Charles out of retirement. Charles was often the only bright spot on a roster riddled with injuries and struggling to keep up with other teams. However, one of Charles’ foremost advocates, former head coach Tanish Wright, is gone, and with the BG signing, Charles’ time in Atlanta is all but up.

Cloud was brought to Phoenix by way of the Washington Mystics last offseason, serving as the Mercury’s primary distributor in her lone season with the Mercury. She averaged 6.9 assists per game, good for third in the league.

Bloomquist, who grew up in old Pac-12 country in Washington state and played college ball at ASU, admits he will miss not being in the conference. But he's excited about playing in the Big 12, where the Sun Devils hope to contend immediately.
