Around 10:30 a.m. police responded to the area of E. Main Street and N. Belmont Avenue on reports of a shooting and a crash involving multiple vehicles.

Officers were chasing that SUV full of shooting suspects from an incident along West Southern Avenue. During that chase, state troopers say a Springfield officer in this unmarked car hit a pickup at the intersection of Main and Belmont. A total of four drivers collided here including Ciera Bannick.

Three people were arrested Tuesday and another fled police after a shots-fired incident in south Springfield led to a police pursuit and then a multi-vehicle crash on the city’s east side.
