The Oak Park community will gather to remember and mourn the police detective killed in the line of duty. A candlelight vigil will be held for Detective Allan Reddins on Friday in the courtyard at Village Hall,

An Oak Park police detective, who was shot during an incident in the morning hours of Black Friday, died from his injuries, the village said.

Detective Allan Reddins died after the shooting attack, police said. A suspect was also shot and taken to a hospital after being seen leaving a bank on Lake Street with a gun, which prompted the initial response,

Oak Park will host a vigil to mark one week since Detective Allan Reddins was shot and killed in the line-of-duty.
