Emma Raducanu has added Rafael Nadal's former coach Francis Roig to her team on a full-time basis ahead of this month's US Open, a source has told ESPN.

WTA World No. 33 Emma Raducanu has found a new head coach. Raducanu has hired Francisco Rigg, a former coach of Rafael Nadal for nearly two decades. Roig worked on Nadal's staff from 2005 through 2022 and will join Raducanu for the start of the Cincinnati Open, which begins later this week.

Born in 1968, Roig is a retired tennis player from Spain. He mainly played in doubles and reached a career-high ATP ranking of no.60. Following his retirement from the game, Roig acted as an alternate coach of Spanish great Rafael Nadal. After he parted ways with Nadal, Roig worked with Matteo Berrettini for a year from 2023 to 2024.
