When electric school bus manufacturer Lion Electric opened its sprawling 900,000 square-foot factory in Joliet last year, Gov. JB Pritzker and both Illinois senators attended the ceremony. Lion Electric, which manufactures electric buses, will suspend its operations at its Channahon facility , the company announced in a press release Tuesday.

Quebec company Lion Electric is once again reducing its workforce, announcing 400 more temporary layoffs, which accounts for more than half of the electric bus and truck manufacturer's remaining employees.
