The West Virginia University men’s basketball program had its best one-year turnaround in program history under the direction of head coach Darian DeVries. The Mountaineers went from nine wins to 19 with an entirely new roster.

Leading scorer and guard Javon Small posted laughing emojis on Instagram after the news dropped, while center Eduardo Andrew wrote “Lool” on X. DeVries’ son Tucker, who played in just eight games for West Virginia as its second-leading scorer, is expected to follow his dad to Indiana.

DeVries replaces Mike Woodson, who guided the Hoosiers to only one NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four years.
