A 27-year-old Nebraska woman, Brittney Clark, has been charged with felony child abuse and third-degree assault after leaving a 4-year-old girl unattended in a vehicle in freezing temperatures.

A violent weekend in Charlotte saw the Queen City reach 100 homicides so far in 2024 with four weeks left in the year. The first incident happened Saturday when officers found 19-year-old Levi Mendez-Maldonado shot to death along Revolution Park Drive in south Charlotte.

Police in Charlotte are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Sunday night in the parking lot of a light rail stop.

A 17-year-old is dead following a shooting on South Boulevard near the light rail station at Archdale Drive. The shooting happened just after 8pm on Sunday. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says the victims is Yexon Madrid Perdomo.
