The Cleveland Browns still "do not have a lot of clarity" about their quarterback situation with two NFL preseason games in the books, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Now that the Cleveland Browns have named Joe Flacco as their Week 1 starter—news that came as a surprise to almost no one—the next big question the team needs to answer is, who is his No. 2 backup?

Veteran QB Joe Flacco has been named the team’s starter, giving some early clarity to the position after what has been a solid camp for him.

Flacco emerged victorious in the position battle over contenders Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, Shedeur Sanders and Tyler Huntley. None of the other quarterbacks in Cleveland are older than 27, while Flacco celebrated his 40th birthday in January.

Kevin Stefanski resolved the biggest storyline of the Cleveland Browns training camp by naming Joe Flacco the starting quarterback on Monday.

“The injury was unfortunate, but it hasn’t stopped him (Pickett) from being engaged and knowing what’s going on,” said Stefanski.
