President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a minerals deal with Ukraine is the security guarantee Kyiv needs against Russia, brushing aside a plea from British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for a commitment of U.
On Thursday, Trump held a meeting with United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House during which they discussed Ukraine, tariffs and the relationship between the two countries. The pair later took questions during a joint news conference where they fielded additional questions on peace between Ukraine and Russia among other topics.

Earlier, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the package would be Britain's largest against Russia since the early days of the Ukraine war, including more measures against vessels used to help Russia evade sanctions and targeting companies in China and elsewhere who supply military components.
