Carlos Estévez, who scored a $22 million payday from the Kansas City Royals this offseason, has yet to appear in a spring training game but is back to throwing off the mound.

Castro is competing for a roster spot this spring. He joins fellow utilitymen Cavan Biggio and Nick Loftin in the position battle. Biggio signed a minor-league deal after playing for three teams last season. He has a MLB pedigree as his dad, Craig, is in the Hall of Fame.
