Multiple towns and cities in Rhode Island went to the polls Tuesday to fill the three open council seats. According to unofficial election results, Democrat Jill Davidson won the majority of votes to fill the Providence City Council Ward 2 seat.
Davidson, who works for the nonprofit Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, received 95% of the vote against Republican Alex Brito.

The U.S. Justice Department is suing six more states in its ongoing campaign to obtain voter data and other election information.
