Chantal has weakened into a post-tropical cyclone and the flash flood threat from the storm has wanted, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Storm Chantal unleashed torrential rains that flooded downtown Saxapahaw, submerging cars and filling buildings with water. The Haw River surged over its banks, completely covering the town's bridge and transforming roads into rivers of debris.
