Lake Fire initially started 3:58 p.m. June 28 in San Bernardino County, California. Since its discovery four days ago, it has burned 489 acres. As of Wednesday evening, the fire crew effectively contained 85% of the wildfire. Investigations into its cause are still ongoing.

The fire is has burned approximately 478 acres with a "dangerous rate of spread" through heavy brush, firefighters said.

The Lake fire broke out in the Silverwood Lake State Recreation Area in San Bernardino County, burning more than 400 acres and prompting evacuations and road closures in the region.
