Syracuse, N.Y. — A tornado warning was issued Sunday afternoon for the Syracuse area as severe storms passed through the region. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Galeville, just north of Syracuse, at 4:51 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Meanwhile, the severe weather threat will linger through Sunday from Florida northward into the upper Ohio River Valley, forecasters warned.
