To be clear, in no way was Harrison’s end-of-season media availability Monday a mea culpa for his still-shocking trade of Luka Doncic, but there was less defiance and more introspection and accountability than that disastrous roundtable six days earlier.

Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison has publicly justified the trade by repeatedly saying "defense wins championships" as the reason they sent out Doncic to acquire Anthony Davis Harrison also said last week that he has "no regrets" over trading Doncic.

Nico Harrison said he underestimated the level to which Mavericks fans cared for Luka Doncic and reiterated the blowback to the trade would've eased if the team had been healthy.
