KING COUNTY, Wash. — King County Emergency Management estimates November’s storm systems caused more than $11 million in damages to government departments, municipalities, and other public organizations. After the first week of the storm, Emergency Management says it collected two types of initial damage estimates and gave them to the state.

Damage estimates from county government departments, municipalities and other public organizations currently total more than $11 million.

We are tracking bomb cyclone storm damage estimates, what qualifies residents and local governments for FEMA assistance, and the timeline for possible allocations of funds.

When collection at county transfer stations resumes, King County residents can drop off tree limbs, and other woody debris for free at the Bow Lake, Cedar Falls, Enumclaw, Factoria, Shoreline, and Vashon facilities. Yard debris brought to all other transfer station facilities will be charged the standard fee.

King County is calling on Governor Jay Inslee for help rebuilding from the bomb cyclone after meeting the threshold to qualify for federal disaster assistance.
