LAS VEGAS — George Russell may have won the Las Vegas Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton beside him on the podium for a Mercedes 1-2 finish. But all eyes were on Max Verstappen. For the fourth time in as many seasons, the Dutchman was crowned Formula One world champion.

Max Verstappen finished in fifth place at the Las Vegas Grand Prix and it was enough to capture the fourth consecutive F1 world championship of his career.

Mercedes driver George Russell won the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix on Saturday night on the Strip. Russell started first and finished 7.313 seconds ahead of Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished fifth and scored enough points to clinch his fourth consecutive F1 world title with two races remaining in the season.
