If you own a 2024 model year heavy-duty Silverado or Sierra with power lock and release for the manual tailgate, chances are your truck has been recalled

GM is responsible for some of the best cars, trucks, and SUVs to buy. However, no automaker is exempt from car recalls, as issues can arise in even the best vehicles. Now, General Motors has issued a new car recall for some of the best-selling pickup trucks from Chevrolet and GMC because of an issue with their tailgates.

General Motors is adding over 132,000 heavy-duty pickups in the U.S. to a previous recall for tailgate release switches that can short-circuit and open the gates while the trucks are in the park.
