A 27-year-old Nebraska woman, Brittney Clark, has been charged with felony child abuse and third-degree assault after leaving a 4-year-old girl unattended in a vehicle in freezing temperatures.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have identified the person who died Sunday in a South Charlotte shooting. The victim, 17-year-old Yexon Madrid Perdomo, died after he was shot in the parking lot of a light rail station. CMPD has not named a suspect or said what led to the shooting.

Homicide detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are conducting an investigation in south Charlotte. Officials say the incident occurred at the 6200 block of South Blvd. Prior to the investigation,
