The IDF received the remains of one slain hostage after Hamas announced earlier on Friday that it had recovered a captive's body in Gaza. The remains arrived in Israel at 12:45 a.m. Saturday morning.

The new peace between Israel and Hamas faced its biggest test to date on Sunday: ・Israel said it carried out aerial and artillery strikes in southern Gaza after Hamas militants shot at soldiers inside the area still under Israeli control,

Israel has accused Hamas of already violating the ceasefire deal by withholding the bodies of the remaining 19 deceased hostages thought to have died during or after the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023.

Hamas promised to hand over to Israel the remains of one more hostage on Friday night, after insisting it was committed to returning all the dead captives still unaccounted for
