The Food and Drug Administration has updated the recall of Broccoli florets sold at Walmart to class I risk level, which is the highest level of risk.

In early January it was revealed that Walmart's washed and ready-to-eat 12 oz. Marketside Broccoli Florets were voluntarily recalled by Braga Fresh due to a possible contamination of Listeria monocytogenes. Although the item is no longer on shelves, consumers could still have bags in their freezer.

The recall affects 12-ounce bags of the product, which were sold in 20 states and pose serious health risks if consumed.

In late October, Brooklyn-based Acme Smoked Fish voluntarily recalled its smoked salmon sold under Costco's in-house brand Kirkland. At the time, laboratory testing of the smoked salmon confirmed the presence of L. monocytogenes, the bacteria that can lead to listeriosis.

A recall of bags of Braga Fresh broccoli florets has been revised and is now listed as a Class 1 recall, the highest level of risk the FDA issues.

An existing food recall at Walmart locations in 20 states has gotten more severe. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has updated an existing broccoli recall to a Class I risk level due to the confi
