All of Earth's planetary neighbors are about to be visible in the night sky next week – though you may need binoculars to see a few of them.

Clear your calendars for February 28, 2025, because something extraordinary is about to happen in the sky– something you’ll only get to witness once in your lifetime! In a rare cosmic event, all seven planets in our solar system will line up in a spectacular planetary parade.

According to Star Walk, "the next time seven planets will align (after Feb. 28, 2025) is likely to be around late 2028." The United States Space Force released the first public photo taken by X-37B space plane in orbit, showing the vehicle high above Earth.

Mars, which will appear as a reddish dot, will be the highest in the sky, located above the southern horizon in the constellation Gemini. Jupiter, the second brightest in the night sky, will be found a bit lower than the Red Planet, in the constellation Taurus. Uranus will be in the constellation Aries, near the border of Taurus.

A nearly new moon and mostly clear skies will present near ideal viewing conditions for the planet parade through Feb. 28.

Mississippi stargazers will be able to see 4 or 5 planets in the night sky with their naked eye this month. Will you be able to see all 7 on Feb. 28?

Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury will shine bright enough for the naked eye to see, and you can catch glimpses of Uranus and Neptune with binoculars or a telescope.
