Vanderbilt basketball got back on track with a blowout win at Mississippi State on Jan. 24. The Commodores (17-3, 4-3 SEC) had lost three straight games prior, but the 88-56 win over the Bulldogs may have been just what they needed before facing Kentucky (14-6, 5-2) on Jan. 27 (8 p.m. CT, ESPN).
Kentucky will face No. 15 Vanderbilt on Tuesday in Nashville, where ESPN’s Basketball Power Index is giving them just a 32.7% chance to win. They’ll then travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas on Saturday to face John Calipari and the No. 20 Razorbacks. ESPN’s BPI is giving them a slightly better chance to win that game, setting their odds at 41.9%.
Kentucky (14-6, 5-2 SEC) brings a five-game winning streak into the game against Vandy (17-3, 4-3). UK’s current winning run has coincided with the absence of Quaintance, who has played in just four games this season.
