The Toronto Maple Leafs' offseason has not yielded the results needed to offset the massive loss of Mitch Marner, potentially risking the team’s chances of making the Stanley Cup playoffs next season.

According to NHL insider Chris Johnston, the Maple Leafs appear likely to hold on to forward Nicholas Robertson, despite ongoing trade rumors and his recent salary arbitration filing. Johnston suggests the team is more inclined to sign the 22-year-old winger to a new deal than to move him, at least for now.

Eager to put a disappointing season behind him, Maccelli and the Leafs are both hoping he can be a solution high in the lineup.

“Niederreiter scored 17 goals last season, in a down year, and has the potential to bounce back in 2025-26,” Tingly added. “The 6-foot-2 winger had a solid playoffs for the Jets, and plays a heavy game, landing 151 hits last season, something (coach Craig) Berube would love to add more of.”
