Teams Phone with Calling Plan will be offered through Microsoft's partners in 33 markets starting on Jan. 1, 2022.

Microsoft is expanding the capabilities of Teams Phone with a new extensibility preview that allows organizations to build and integrate custom call workflows using Azure Communication Services (ACS).

This week, Ilya Burshteyn, Vice President for Microsoft Teams Calling, Devices, and Premium Experiences, announced the new Team Phone Extensibility at Enterprise Connect 2025 in Orlando, US.

Microsoft is now bringing a similar feature to iOS and Android devices via its Teams app. However, Microsoft isn't using rappers and athletes to try to make PTT seem "cool," as Boost Mobile did.

On top of this, with Teams Phone with Calling Plan, Microsoft says, “customers can easily manage the solution in the same admin console as the rest of their Microsoft 365 and Office 365 services.” ...
