UNLV basketball bounced back in a big way to open Mountain West play. Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn erupted for a game-high 28 points as the Rebels

Fresno State’s second half woes continued into the conference opener on Saturday against UNLV. After building a 41-39 halftime lead over the host Rebels, the Bulldogs were outscored 45-31 in the second 20 minutes to lose 84-72.

With nine new players on Rebels’ roster, introductions are in order. During a team meeting, coach Lindy La Roque goes over protocols, practice plans and schedules, before coming to a final item. “We have another announcement,” La Roque says. “Sydni has some news.” She motions Summers to join her in the front of the locker room.

The UNM Lobo women's basketball team had a tough time on the road as they lost Saturday to the UNLV Rebels, 89-71.

Two Palo Duro football players signed with UNLV on National Signing Day to continue their careers on the gridiron.

Jake Heidbreder, Fresno State Bulldogs - The senior guard has been impressive on the offensive side of the court, leading the Bulldogs with 18.5 points per game. If the Rebels want to come out of their first Mountain West game with a win, they will have to find a way to slow him down.

JoJo Earle is a senior wide receiver at UNLV from Fort Worth, Texas. He apparently likes to eat. Desserts seem to be his favorite. “I have no complaints with everybody getting a piece of the pie,” Earle said.
