Former Proud Boys national leader Enrique Tarrio was arrested Friday near the U.S. Capitol on a charge that he assaulted a woman protesting a gathering attended by Tarrio and others who received presidential pardons for crimes stemming from the Jan.

Enrique Tarrio, a former leader of the far-right Proud Boys group was arrested outside the U.S. Capitol one month after he was pardoned by President Donald Trump, police confirmed.

Tarrio was released from prison last month after President Donald Trump cut short his 22-year sentence for seditious conspiracy related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
