WWE SmackDown highlighted the young title reign of Tiffany Stratton and gave the San Diego crowd a notable Rey Mysterio match.

Tiffany Stratton pinned Bayley clean in the middle of the ring in the first defense of her WWE Women's Championship in the main event of "WWE SmackDown."

Tiffany Stratton makes the first defense of her WWE women's championship on WWE SmackDown. Former champion Bayley leans on her veteran savvy against Stratton, who won her first main roster title by chasing in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Nia Jax.

For the first time (which is incredible), Kevin Owens battled Rey Mysterio in a singles match. These two didn't go warp speed, but they made it count. Owens and Mysterio put on a show, with Owens picking up the win with a Powerbomb after he "inadvertently" knocked the official into the ropes and sent Mysterio off the top rope.

After winning a fatal four-way last Friday against Naomi, Nia Jax & Bianca Belair, Bayley gets her WWE Women’s Championship shot versus Tiffany Stratton on tonight’s SmackDown.
