Rachid Meziane, who has long coached professionally in France and leads the Belgian women's national team, is the new coach of the WNBA's Connecticut Sun.

Meziane joins the Sun after most recently coaching the Belgium national team and the French professional club Villeneuve d’Ascq.

The Connecticut Sun named Rachid Meziane as the franchise's seventh head coach on Wednesday. Meziane, 44, has coached professionally in his native France and also leads the Belgian women's national team.
