Memphis basketball will face No. 3 Auburn for the Maui Invitational championship Wednesday at Lahaina Civic Center.

Despite coming into a loaded Maui Invitational field as one of the four unranked teams in the tournament, the Memphis Tigers are now just one win away from being crowned champions of what is arguably the most well-known event of Feast Week.

Penny Hardaway gathered his players early Monday before they took the court against the back-to-back champs in the opening game of the Maui Invitational, and in a plain white T-shirt and blue Memphis hat,

Memphis took an impressive path to the Maui finai, upsetting No. 2 UConn and defeating Michigan State, but eventually ran into an Auburn buzzsaw. The Tigers from the SEC ran out to a 9–0 lead before Memphis closed the gap to four points.

Memphis coach Penny Hardaway will put his Tigers up against Auburn coach Bruce Pearl's No. 3 Tigers with a Maui Invitational title on the line.
