K-pop singer and former member of the South Korean band NCT Taeil has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for the rape of a Chinese tourist. Moon Tae-il, known mononymously as Taeil, and his two accomplices, named only by the surnames as Lee and Hong in South Korean media, in June pleaded guilty.

South Korean singer Taeil and two other accomplices admitted guilt to the aggravated rape of an intoxicated foreign woman in June 2024. They have been sentenced to three and a half years in jail.

Tae-il, a former member of NCT, has been arrested in court on charges of intimacyual assault. A sentencing hearing was held on the 10th for Taeil, accomplice Lee, and Hong, who were indicted on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes at the 26th Criminal Department (C) of the Seoul Central District Court.
