As the Year of the Snake begins, researchers at the Field Museum are reclassifying dozens of king cobra specimens after distinct different species were recently identified.

The museum will begin renovating the south entrance this spring, adding modern amenities like an elevator, cafe and terrace overlooking the Jackson Park lagoon thanks to a grant from the Driehaus Foundation.
