MADRID (AP) — Former U.S. Open champion Coco Gauff was preparing to shower in a dark locker room after play at the Madrid Open was suspended and then postponed Monday due to a major power outage in Spain and Portugal. Then Gauff realized the water was off, too.

World No. 4 Coco Gauff used her social media to share the events of the European blackout with fans all over the world.

Coco Gauff revealed that she had to shower in the dark after the Madrid Open was affected by a mass power cut. The world No. 4 luckily managed to win her fourth-round match moments before the lights went out inside the Caja Magica, with the power going out in the middle of her on-court interview.
