Lake Fire initially started 3:58 p.m. June 28 in San Bernardino County, California. Since its discovery four days ago, it has burned 489 acres. As of Wednesday evening, the fire crew effectively contained 85% of the wildfire. Investigations into its cause are still ongoing.

The fire is has burned approximately 478 acres with a "dangerous rate of spread" through heavy brush, firefighters said.

Evacuation orders related to the Lake Fire near Silverwood Lake were lifted Sunday as firefighters halted forward progress of the flames, although evacuation warnings remained in effect, authorities said.
