Guerrero-Cruz was taken to a post office parking lot, where he was held by the men before official ICE agents arrived and transferred him to federal custody. En route, he allegedly heard the agents bragging they would get paid at least $1,500 for his arrest and would drink well that night, Becerra said.

ICE said it hoped the facility would “streamline and expedite removal processes, which is one of the Trump administration’s priorities."

ICE officials said in July that Evans overstayed his visa and unlawfully attempted to purchase a firearm.

Police Chief Brad Alexander entered into a contract with ICE and deputized all seven of his full-time and reserve officers with the power to enforce federal immigration laws.
