Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence on Sunday, just a day before the Delhi Assembly convenes for the first time since the formation of the new government.

Rekha Gupta has taken oath as the Delhi chief minister, becoming the first leader from the BJP to assume the post after 27 years. While names like Parvesh Verma, Vijender Gupta and Satish Upadhyay were doing the rounds,

Shalimar Bagh MLA Rekha Gupta has become Delhi's fourth woman CM as well as the fourth BJP leader to hold the post. So far, none of the previous CMs from the BJP have completed a full term in office.

Just two days later of being sworn-in as Delhi Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in the national capital on Saturday. Both of them had met during the oath-taking ceremony at Ramlila Maidan on February 20 too while the PM attended the event along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and various other NDA leaders.

With the formation of the new government in Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her team have swiftly moved into action, focusing on fulfilling pre-election promises. Following her historic swearing-in at Ramlila Maidan,

Delhi Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on February 21 emphasized that the top priority of the newly formed BJP government in the national capital is to fulfil all the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rekha Gupta became the President of the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) in 1996-97 and actively raised student issues.
